What are the Child Care Institutions?

Child Care Institutions (CCIs) or agencies or facilities are the institutions managed by the State Government, or a voluntary or non-governmental organizations. The CCIs may come up in response to a particular need or agencies or facilities authorised and registered under section 41of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 for providing residential care to children, on a short-term or long-term basis. 

In Assam there are Child Care Institutions run by Government and Non- Government Organizations. In Assam 36 nos. of CCIs and 3 nos. of Open Shelters are receiving grant- in- aid under Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS)

State Resource Centre for Women:     

The Govt. of India aims to strengthen process to promote all round development of women, while many programmes reach out to women to provide them specific benefits, there is need for a convergence. In the services to achieve the ultimate goal of empowering women and ensuring their all round development. It is with this objectives the scheme “National Mission for Empowerment of Women (NMEW)”has been envisaged. NMEW scheme will be implemented in the States /UT through the State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW).  Poorna Shakti Kendra (PSK), Village Level Convergence & Facilitation Service (VCFS) comes under the purview of National Mission for Empowerment of Women (NMEW) .

 NMEW Scheme will be implemented in the States/UTs through the State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW). At the State Level, the State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW) under State Government(Department of WCD/Social Welfare) will work towards implementing gender sensitive programmes, laws and schemes through effective coordination at the State/UT Level. SRCW may review and evaluate existing policies, programmes and legislations so that activities which are cross-cutting and multi-disciplinary nature synergise harmoniously to reach women beneficiaries.

SRCW in consultation with key stakeholders will prepare State Action Plans for respective States/UTs with a focus on women issues and provide technical support and coordination for implementation of the BBBP Scheme while working in coordination with the State Task Force mandated under the said scheme.
