Integrated Child Development Services Scheme

Child Welfare and Protection

  • In convergence with The Department of Panchayat and Rural Development, construction of 3000 AWCs @ Rs.7 Lakh has been taken up under MGNREGA.
  • Replication of the MIS- ICDS and ICPS, Madhya Pradesh Model has been initiated to strengthen monitoring and mechanism throughout the state. This online application system made ICDS monitoring system digitize also Real Time Monitoring.
  • We have developed 2300 Model AWCs with community support in the state

 

 
  • Accreditation of all the Anganwadi Centers by using AWCs Facility survey tool,  in the state has been taken up. The facility survey has been conducted in all AWCs of 230 Nos. of  ICDS Projects, the result of which will give a clear picture of the present status of AWCs all over the state.
  • The training of Infant and Young Child Feeding Guideline formulated and training imparted to functionaries of ICDS in 3 High Burden districts ( Nagaon, Golaghat and Karimganj) along with Kokrajhar.
  • Rapid Reporting System in ICDS, introduced by Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt. of India has roll out in the state since January, 2017. AWCs have uploaded their Monthly Progress Report through this system regularly.
  • IMR reduced from 54 (SRS 2014-15) to 48 (NFHS 2015-16). Various initiatives like awareness camps with Matri Sahayok Gut at AWCs and Community, related to 1000 days Windows of opportunity, Infant Young Child Feeding etc. have been taken up jointly with Health. With the support of UNICEF, Assam field level functionaries of ICDS and Health also jointly organize some activities to reduce IMR & MMR in Tea Garden and Minority dominated areas.
  • Initiative has been taken to provide LPG Connections to all functional AWCs in order to convert and transform them into clean and green environment  and create a smokeless ambience for holistic development of the children.

Early Childhood Care & Education

The present Govt. has given more emphasis on Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) and accordingly 17 ICDS Officials has been trained as State Level Master Trainers in Lukhnow for effective implementation of Early Child Hood Care and Education in the AWCs.

Fund has been released for organizing District wise training of ICDS field level functionaries on ECCE.

 
Integrated Child Protection Scheme:
  • Completed the first of its kind study in India namely “Pendency of Cases before Juvenile Justice Board of Assam".
  • Successfully organized & host the 3rd Round of regional North Eastern Juvenile Justice Conclave in collaboration with Supreme Court of India. Notification of establishment of District Child Protection Committee in the newly created District of Assam, so that ICPS can be rolled out in those 6 Districts.
  • Organized District Level Awareness programme on Child Trafficking under CM 100 days Programme initiative.
  • Re Notification of Block Level Child Protection Committee under ICPS
  • Organized Police Training on Child related Laws for Western Range of Assam Police.
  • Recognition of 14 newSpecial Adoption Agencies covering all Districts of Assam.
